An Easter egg hunt is one of the best holiday traditions we remember from our childhood. It’s a fun family activity and if we were lucky that year, we wound up getting a second Easter egg hunt at Grandmas’s house. As an adult, it’s fun to stuff Easter eggs with candy and coins and hide them for children to find. We made these Easter egg cookies for the adults to enjoy while watching the children search for the eggs, however you could certainly include a few in Easter baskets too. Be sure to include some decorated Easter egg cookies with your holiday celebration.

Steps to make Easter eggs: We made all the Easter eggs using a wet on wet technique for decorating with royal icing. This means that immediately after you flood the cookie with a base color you begin adding details. The icing will sink into the base color.
