The grilling season has officially begun! Nearly every night, we can smell the wonderful aromas coming from a neighbor’s grill or smoker. Grilling is an activity in the summer, not just a quick fire. When we grill, we also tend to chill. Thus, this Grillin’ and Chillin’ cookies set emerged. And since the most essential grill master in our families is our Dads, we thought this set was perfect for Father’s Day. Red, black, and ivory come to mind when we think BBQ and grilling. The gingham pattern of the rectangles are reminiscent of the checkered table cloths of our favorite BBQ joints so we also included some of those. Also, a little trick we learned along the way is to add a teaspoon of black cocoa powder to achieve a dark royal icing color without using a lot of black food color. A little goes a long way. Add a set of Grillin’ and Chillin’ cookies to your next BBQ.
